Aim of the project

The purpose of this project was to provide a current assessment of the development process for an online certificate program. The objectives were to:

  1. Present a detailed analysis of the pilot project for the program’s course development.

  2. Propose recommendations to ensure the long-term improvement and sustainability of the development process.

The starting point for the project was a mandate received by the university to create a fully online Legal Translation Certificate Program. Delivered entirely asynchronously, all courses were designed to be self-paced and autonomous. Given the complexity of developing such programs, the university opted to outsource the project in a collaborative knowledge transfer model between the external provider and the internal university teams.
